The law goes into effect in July.

OKLAHOMA CITY —

Over the weekend, Gov. Kevin Stitt signed nine bills into law and vetoed four.

Among the nine newly signed bills was House Bill 2235, which increases the amount paid to those proven to be wrongly convicted. The law will multiply their payment based on the number of years served.

Stitt, however, vetoed two parts of the bill. One would have given them health coverage, and the other would have waived tuition fees at state colleges for them and their children.
